Example itinerary – Hadeland + Hurtigruten

Our inland and coastal journeys are not one fixed route, but a flexible experience that can be combined and adapted. For each group we design a seamless programme that matches interests and trip length, linking art, culture, history, local food and outdoor experiences in Hadeland with either Hurtigruten’s Signature Voyages or the iconic coastal express between Bergen and Kirkenes. Travel from rolling hills and rural traditions to fjords and Arctic seas, and experience two authentic sides of Norway in one journey.

These journeys can be arranged as short breaks or longer stays, depending on how much time the group wishes to spend in Hadeland and at sea. Content and duration can be adjusted to fit different group profiles, seasons and travel needs.

Guests can also choose from a range of accommodation options, from Hadeland’s welcoming hotels and farm stays to comfortable cabins on board Hurtigruten. This allows each group to find the level of comfort and character that suits them best, whether they prefer classic hotel stays, rural charm or life at sea. Because we know both Hadeland and Hurtigruten’s products in depth, we can curate the ideal combination of hotels and cabin types to suit each group’s preferences and travel style. The sample below illustrates a ten-day itinerary with a day-by-day programme, but both content and duration can, of course, be adapted.

Hadeland Inland Highlights
Begin your Norwegian adventure in Hadeland, where the tranquillity of open landscapes meets modern architecture, art, and craftsmanship. Just an hour from Oslo, this region offers a perfect introduction to authentic rural culture shaped by creativity, history, and nature.

Here, your group can explore award-winning architecture and outdoor art installations set in rolling countryside, meet local artisans at historic glassworks and design studios, and share conversations and meals with farmers who take pride in regional food traditions. Take a gentle hike to viewpoints overlooking the Randsfjorden valley, or linger over a farm lunch prepared with ingredients grown just outside the door.

Sample experiences
• Architecture and sculpture: Modern landmarks and art in the open landscape.
• Historic glassworks and crafts: From centuries-old techniques to innovative design.
• Local food and farm life: Tastings, cooking experiences, and lunches at working farms.
• Cultural landscapes and outdoor life: Paths leading through history, viewpoints, and heritage sites.

Hurtigruten – Coastal Wonders
From Oslo, the journey continues north, boarding a Hurtigruten Signature Voyage along Norway’s legendary coastline. As the ship glides past islands, fjords, and remote fishing villages, the scenery unfolds like a living postcard. Inside, comfort meets curiosity: panoramic lounges, locally inspired meals, and storytelling lectures bring the coast to life.

Stand at the North Cape and feel the wind of the Arctic, cross the Polar Circle and hopefully gaze at the Northern Lights dancing across the sky on a crisp autumn or winter night. Every day brings new horizons, from old trading towns and dramatic fjords to quiet coves and bustling harbours. Optional excursions include fishing in Lofoten, visit to the North Cape Plateau, king crab safari, dog sledding, hiking, and guided city walks.

Highlights along the voyage
• Iconic fjords, charming ports, and ever-changing coastal scenery.
• Polar Circle ceremony, a time-honoured maritime tradition.
• North Cape and Northern Lights, the Arctic, up close and unforgettable.
• Life on board, engaging lectures, activities, and time to simply watch the world drift by.

Sample 10-day journey
Days 1–2: Hadeland; Arrival and exploration of art, architecture, farms, and food.
Day 3: Oslo; Scenic transfer and city highlights before embarkation.
Days 4–9: Signature voyage with Hurtigruten; Fjords, ports, excursions, and Arctic wonders.
Day 10: Return to Oslo and departure (optional extra stay on request).

Longer itineraries (up to 21 days) allow for deeper exploration of both inland and coastal highlights, a journey that blends culture, nature, and the timeless rhythm of Norway’s land and sea.
