Hadeland Folkemuseum

Discover Hadeland by Norwegian Destination Development & Management

Valid for booking made from 09.04 2026

1. Key package travel rights

These Terms apply to package travel arrangements sold by Norwegian Destination Development & Management AS («NDDM») under the Discover Hadeland brand. NDDM is the organiser and is responsible for the proper performance of the package travel as a whole.

As a traveller, you have the rights granted by the Norwegian Package Travel Act and other mandatory consumer legislation. In particular:

  • NDDM is responsible for all travel services in your booking, whether performed by NDDM itself or by hotels, transport providers, guides, restaurants, activity providers or other suppliers engaged by NDDM.
  • If NDDM becomes insolvent, your payments will be refunded through the travel guarantee scheme. If transport is included, repatriation is also covered. NDDM is a member of the Travel Guarantee Fund and maintains the statutory travel guarantee required for package travel organisers in Norway.
  • If NDDM makes significant changes or cancels the trip before departure, you may in relevant cases terminate the contract and receive a refund.
  • If services are not performed as agreed, you may be entitled to remedies under mandatory law, including assistance, a price reduction and, where the conditions are met, compensation.

More information about your key rights under the Norwegian Package Travel Act can be found here: Standard information form for package travel contracts.

The general package travel terms published by the Norwegian Consumer Authority are available here: General Terms for Package Travel.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights you have under applicable law.

2. Booking and contract terms

Your contract consists of the offer or itinerary, the booking confirmation, these Terms, and any trip-specific conditions stated before or at the time of booking. In case of inconsistency, mandatory law prevails, followed by the booking confirmation and trip-specific conditions, then these Terms.

Information on NDDM’s website or otherwise given to you in writing before booking forms part of the contract, unless NDDM informs you of a change before the contract is concluded.

2.1 Booking and contract formation

Bookings may be made by email, through our website or through other channels used by NDDM.

A booking request does not itself create a binding contract. The contract is formed when NDDM confirms the booking in writing or in accordance with the applicable booking process.

If you book on behalf of other travellers, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on their behalf. The lead booker receives all confirmations, invoices and travel documents and must share relevant information with the other travellers.

Any trip-specific terms, payment deadlines or practical conditions applicable to the booking will be set out in the offer and/or the booking confirmation.

2.2 What is included

The contract covers the services listed in your booking confirmation and itinerary. Services you purchase directly from third parties are not part of your contract with NDDM.

What each trip includes depends on the programme purchased. Unless stated otherwise, the price does not cover travel or cancellation insurance, travel to and from the start and end point, extra meals, drinks, personal expenses or optional activities. You are responsible for adequate insurance covering illness, accidents, medical treatment, repatriation, baggage and cancellation.

2.3 Prices and payment

All prices are stated in NOK, per person or per group as specified in the relevant offer or programme. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following payment terms apply:

  • For bookings made more than 90 days before the start date, a deposit of 25% of the total price is due upon confirmation and the balance is due 90 days before the start date;
  • For bookings made 90 days or less before the start date, the full amount is due at the time of booking.

If payment is not received by the due date, NDDM may cancel the booking and apply the cancellation terms set out below, to the extent permitted by law.

After the contract is concluded, the price may only be adjusted as permitted by law and only where the change directly results from documented changes in transport costs (including fuel), taxes, fees or exchange rates that significantly affect NDDM’s costs.

Price increases will be notified no later than 20 days before departure. If the total price increases by more than 8%, you may cancel without paying a cancellation fee. If costs decrease, you may be entitled to a corresponding reduction, subject to deductions permitted by law.

2.4 Your responsibilities

You must provide accurate information for the booking and the trip, including dietary needs, allergies, accessibility requirements or medical conditions relevant to participation or safety. NDDM will try to accommodate such needs but cannot guarantee that all requests can be met.

You are responsible for valid travel documents and for meeting any passport, visa, health or entry requirements. You must also be fit to participate in the booked activities.

You must arrive on time, follow safety instructions and respect local rules. If your behaviour, intoxication or condition creates a safety risk or seriously disrupts the trip, NDDM may refuse further participation without refund, except as required by law.

You are responsible for any damage caused by intent or negligence to property belonging to NDDM or its suppliers.

3. Changes, cancellation and disruption

NDDM will try to accommodate changes to confirmed bookings. Changes depend on availability and may involve additional costs.

A reduction in the number of participants may affect the agreed price where the original offer was based on a specific group size.

You may transfer your booking to an eligible person by notifying NDDM at least 7 days before the start date. You and the replacement are jointly and severally liable for any costs caused by the transfer.

3.1 Cancellation by you

The lead booker must cancel in writing. The cancellation date is the date NDDM receives the notice.

Unless the offer or booking confirmation states otherwise, the following cancellation charges apply as a percentage of the total price:

  • 90 days or more before the start date: 25%
  • 60–89 days before the start date: 40%
  • 28–59 days before the start date: 70%
  • 14–27 days before the start date: 90%
  • Less than 14 days before the start date: 100%

If specific services are subject to stricter supplier conditions, such as non-refundable hotels, special transport or externally arranged activities, this will be stated in the offer and/or booking confirmation.

If mandatory law gives you the right to cancel without a fee, including because unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the destination or in its immediate vicinity significantly affect the trip, that right applies.

If you have cancellation insurance, any recovery of cancellation costs from your insurer is governed by the terms of that insurance.

3.2 Changes or cancellation by NDDM

NDDM may make minor practical changes to the programme, such as changing timings or replacing a visit or activity with a comparable alternative, if this does not materially affect the trip.

If NDDM must make significant changes or cancel the trip before departure, you will be informed as soon as possible and will have the rights provided by applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, you may accept the change, accept a suitable alternative or terminate the contract and receive a refund.

If a trip requires a minimum number of participants, this will be stated before booking. NDDM may cancel the trip within the stated deadline if that number is not reached.

If cancellation or a significant change is due to reasons for which NDDM is legally responsible, and is not caused by unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances, you may in relevant cases also be entitled to a price reduction and/or compensation under applicable law.

3.3 Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances

NDDM is not liable for failure to perform if this is due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances that neither NDDM nor its suppliers could reasonably have foreseen or avoided, even if all reasonable measures had been taken.

Such circumstances may include natural disasters, extreme weather, flooding, fire, war, terrorism, serious security incidents, strikes, labour disputes, epidemics, pandemics, public measures or serious disruptions on the supplier side.

In such situations, NDDM may change the programme, arrange alternatives or cancel the trip if performance is not possible. Your rights will be governed by applicable law.

4. Responsibility, complaints and other matters

NDDM is responsible for the proper performance of the travel services included in the contract.

If a travel service is not performed as agreed, you must inform NDDM without undue delay so that NDDM has a fair opportunity to investigate the issue and, where possible, remedy it.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where mandatory law does not allow such a limitation. To the extent permitted by law, NDDM’s liability for damages other than personal injury may be limited to three times the total price of the package travel.

4.1 Complaints

If you experience a problem during the trip, you must notify NDDM or NDDM’s local representative or guide as soon as possible.

If the issue is not resolved during the trip, you may submit a written complaint to NDDM within a reasonable time and no later than 2 months after the trip ends. The complaint should describe what happened, when and where it happened, who was notified during the trip, and include any relevant supporting documents.

NDDM will review the complaint and reply in writing within a reasonable time.

Travel and cancellation insurance are not included unless expressly stated. You are responsible for having adequate insurance covering illness, accidents, medical treatment, repatriation, baggage and cancellation.

4.2 Personal data

NDDM processes the personal data needed to manage your booking and deliver the trip. This may include sharing relevant information with hotels, transport providers, guides, restaurants and activity partners where necessary to perform the booking.

Further details are set out in NDDM’s separate Privacy Policy.

4.3 Travel Guarantee Fund

NDDM is a member of the Travel Guarantee Fund and maintains the statutory travel guarantee required for package travel organisers in Norway.

4.4 Governing law and disputes

This contract is governed by Norwegian law.

The parties should first try to resolve any dispute through dialogue. If the matter is not resolved, you may bring it before the Package Travel Complaints Board (Pakkereisenemnda) or another competent body.

Nothing in this section limits any mandatory rights you may have as a consumer.
