Our tours are not one fixed route, but a toolbox of modules that can be combined and adapted. For each group we design a tailored programme based on interest, season, group size and desired activity level. The tours you’ll find here are examples that serve as inspiration to help you imagine your own version of Hadeland. Historic HadelandVikings, Churches & Everyday Lives

Hadeland is where history feels close, from Viking power and early Christian stories to everyday lives in farms and villages. See the Dynna rune stone, visit the grave of a Viking king and explore old farm buildings at the open-air Hadeland Folk Museum. Go even further back among burial mounds and a reconstructed longhouse at Veien Cultural Heritage Park. Walk between medieval stone churches and historic buildings at Granavollen, with the Sister Churches, Steinhuset and Telthuset as highlights. Explore stone circles at Bilden, then add glass, design and more recent stories at Hadeland Glassverk or over dinner in former prison walls at Brasserie Fengselet.

Artful Hadeland Architecture, Design & Craft

Explore cutting-edge architecture and hands-on craft experiences. Wander through Kistefos Sculpture Park and its award-winning gallery-bridge The Twist. Here, contemporary art, industrial history and river views merge into one memorable experience. At Hadeland Glassverk you step into a historic riverside village of glass, galleries, design shops and cosy cafés, all built around one of Norway’s oldest glassworks. At Grinakervev you see how fine damask and traditional Norwegian garments are created on the looms. Explore circular fashion at Recouture where old textiles are transformed into new favourites. Then enjoy contemporary art exhibitions in the converted barn at Glasslåven Art Centre at Granavollen.

Hadeland & Hurtigruten – Inland Highlights & Coastal Wonders
Enjoy a journey where inland culture and coastal adventure play together. Discover Hadeland’s highlights with award-winning architecture and sculptures, historic glassworks, traditional handcraft, outdoor activities and historic cultural sites. Visit local farms to sample local produce and join hands-on cooking sessions. Then change pace. In Oslo, you embark Hurtigruten’s ship for an all-inclusive roundtrip along the Norwegian coast to North Cape and back. Sail a handpicked route of ports, fjords and mountain-lined seascapes as you cross the Polar Circle, with great chances of seeing the Northern Lights. The whole journey is carefully curated, offering the very best of inland Norway and the coast in one seamless experience.

Hadeland is made for Norwegian friluftsliv, being outdoors in all seasons. Move through nature at your own pace, before returning to good food and comfortable surroundings. Activities range from gentle walks and long forest hikes to cycling, paddling and skiing, depending on the season. Within a compact area you find rolling hills, deep woods, rich farmland and cultural landscapes. Along the way you find small peaks, some of them ancient volcanoes. A mosaic of lakes and an inland fjord invite you to stop, swim or just enjoy the view. Programmes are fully tailored to group size and activity level, with options for an extra regenerative layer.

Taste of Hadeland Food, Farms & Flavours

Meet passionate farmers, food producers and artisans on a tasteful journey through inland Norway. Visit working farms, taste local cheeses and honey, and join seasonal cooking workshops in a countryside kitchen. Here, cheesemaking, fermenting, baking and sausage-making turn local ingredients into memorable shared meals. Optional regenerative experiences invite you to pick fruit and berries in gardens or nature that would otherwise go unused and help turn the extra harvest into juices, jams and other treats. These become memorable edible souvenirs that guests can bring home, while at the same time strengthening local food traditions and supporting community initiatives.
