FAQ
About Discover Hadeland
Who is Discover Hadeland
Discover Hadeland is a travel brand operated by Norwegian Destination Development and Management AS. We are a Norwegian package travel organiser that designs and delivers curated trips in the Hadeland region north of Oslo.
What kind of trips do you offer
We offer multi day trips, day trips and tailor-made programmes in Hadeland. Our trips often combine local food, culture and art, nature experiences, farm visits, historic sites and meetings with local hosts.
Where is Hadeland located
Hadeland is a historic region in Eastern Norway, approximately one hour from Oslo and Oslo Airport by car or public transport.
Who is responsible for the services in my booking
Norwegian Destination Development and Management AS is the organiser and is responsible for the proper performance of the package travel as a whole, even when services are delivered by local hotels, transport providers, guides, restaurants or activity partners.
Booking and payment
How can I make a booking
You can make a booking through our booking solution on the Discover Hadeland website or by contacting us by email.
When does my booking become a binding contract
A booking request is not binding by itself. The contract is formed when we confirm your booking in writing or in line with the relevant booking process for your trip.
Can I book on behalf of a group
Yes. If you book for other travellers, you confirm that you are authorised to accept our terms on their behalf. The lead booker receives all confirmations, invoices and travel documents and is responsible for sharing information with the rest of the group.
What is included in the price
Your contract covers the services listed in your booking confirmation and itinerary. Services you purchase directly from other providers are not part of your contract with us. Unless we state otherwise, the price does not include travel or cancellation insurance, travel to and from the start and end point, extra meals, drinks, personal expenses or optional activities.
In which currency do you state your prices
All prices are stated in Norwegian kroner per person or per group as specified in your offer or programme.
When do I have to pay
For most trips you pay through our booking solution. Unless we agree something else in writing, the following rules apply. If you book more than ninety days before the start date, a deposit of twenty five percent of the total price is due when we confirm the booking. The remaining amount is paid ninety days before the start date. If you book ninety days or less before the start date, the full amount is paid at the time of booking.
Can the price change after I have booked
The price can only be adjusted as allowed by law and only when there are documented changes in transport costs, taxes, fees or exchange rates that significantly affect our costs. We will notify you of any increase no later than twenty days before departure. If the total price increases by more than eight percent, you may cancel without paying a cancellation fee. If our costs decrease, you may in many cases be entitled to a corresponding reduction.
Changes and cancellations
Can I change my booking
We will try to accommodate changes to confirmed bookings. Changes depend on availability and may lead to additional costs. A reduction in the number of participants may affect the total price if the original offer was based on a specific group size.
Can I transfer my booking to another person
Yes. You may transfer your booking to a person who meets all conditions for participation by notifying us at least seven days before the start date. You and the replacement traveller are jointly responsible for any costs that result from the transfer.
What are your cancellation terms if I cancel
The lead booker must cancel in writing. The cancellation date is the date we receive the notice. Unless your offer or booking confirmation states other rules, the following cancellation charges apply as a percentage of the total price.
- Ninety days or more before the start date, twenty five percent.
- Sixty to eighty-nine days before the start date, forty percent.
- Twenty-eight to fifty-nine days before the start date, seventy percent.
- Fourteen to twenty-seven days before the start date, ninety percent.
- Less than fourteen days before the start date, one hundred percent.
If specific services such as non-refundable hotels or special transport are subject to stricter rules, this will be stated in your offer or booking confirmation. If mandatory law gives you the right to cancel without a fee, for example because unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the destination significantly affect the trip, that right will apply.
Can Discover Hadeland cancel my trip
Yes. We may make minor practical changes to the programme when needed, for example small changes to timing or replacing a visit with a comparable alternative, as long as this does not materially affect the trip. If we must make significant changes or cancel the trip before departure, we will inform you as soon as possible. You will then have the rights given by law, including the right to accept the change, accept a suitable alternative, or terminate the contract and receive a refund, depending on the situation. If a trip requires a minimum number of participants, this will be stated before booking and we may cancel within the stated time limit if that number is not reached.
Guides and languages
Who provides guiding services for Discover Hadeland
For For most guided experiences we work with Oslo Guidebureau, a professional guiding company based in Oslo. This means that when you book a guide through Discover Hadeland you get a professional guide who is matched to your language and to the content of your trip. In addition, we collaborate with local hosts, such as farm owners and other venue owners in Hadeland, who share their own stories and insights during visits for an even more authentic experience
What languages do your guides speak
Through Oslo Guidebureau we can offer guiding in a wide range of languages. We match your group with a professional guide who speaks your preferred language and who knows the theme of your trip, for example food and wine, history, architecture or nature.
Can I get a guide in my own language
Yes. When you book a guided programme, you can tell us which language you prefer. Together with Oslo Guidebureau we will assign a guide who speaks that language and who can adapt stories, explanations and pace to your group so that everyone feels included and comfortable.
Do you welcome guests from different countries and cultures
Absolutely. Discover Hadeland is designed for international guests. Our partners are used to hosting visitors from many countries and we are happy to adjust the programme to your language, cultural background and any special wishes you may have.
During the trip and emergencies
How can I reach you during the trip in case of an emergency
Before your trip you will receive a detailed programme with the name and phone number of your main contact person. In urgent situations during the trip, you can call this number at any time, and we will either help you directly or coordinate with our local partners to solve the situation.
Will my guide be available if there are changes or delays
For guided programmes your guide and or local host will share a direct phone number at the start of the trip. If you experience delays, transport issues or other practical problems during the day you can contact them so that we can adjust the programme where this is possible.
What should I do if something goes wrong during the trip
If a travel service is not performed as agreed, you should inform us or our local representative or guide without undue delay. This gives us a fair chance to investigate and, where possible, correct the problem.
Accessibility and special needs
Can you accommodate mobility or accessibility needs
We welcome travellers with different accessibility needs and we work with local partners and Oslo Guidebureau to find suitable solutions. Because many experiences involve historic buildings, countryside terrain and small family-owned venues, accessibility can vary, so we ask you to tell us about any mobility or accessibility needs when you send your booking request so we can advise you honestly about what is realistic for your trip.
Is Discover Hadeland suitable for guests who are not used to hiking
Many of our trips include gentle walks and time outdoors, but we can adapt the level of physical activity for your group. If you prefer mainly low impact activities, we can design a programme with shorter walks, more cultural visits and comfortable transport between locations.
Do you handle dietary needs and allergies
Yes. Many of our experiences include local food and drink, and our partners can usually adapt menus for common dietary needs and allergies. Please share this information in your booking request so we can confirm what is possible for your specific programme.
Payments, corporate bookings and gift vouchers
Do you offer corporate or invoiced bookings
Yes. We work with corporate clients for incentives, meetings and hosted visits in Hadeland. If your company requires payment by invoice instead of card payment in booking system, please tell us in your enquiry so that we can agree the terms and make sure we have the necessary billing details.
Do you sell gift vouchers
We can arrange gift vouchers for selected trips or for a fixed amount that can be used toward a future Discover Hadeland experience. To order a gift voucher, contact us by email and tell us who it is for, the amount or experience you have in mind and when you would like to give the gift, and we will send you payment instructions and a digital voucher.
Legal rights and guarantees
Which laws apply to my trip
Your package travel with Discover Hadeland is governed by Norwegian law. As a traveller, you have rights under the Norwegian Package Travel Act and other mandatory consumer rules.
Are my payments protected through a travel guarantee scheme
Yes. Norwegian Destination Development and Management AS is a member of the Norwegian Travel Guarantee Fund and maintains the statutory travel guarantee required for package travel organisers in Norway. This protects your payments if the organiser becomes insolvent and covers repatriation when transport is included.
What are my rights if services are not delivered as agreed
Depending on the situation, you may be entitled to assistance, a price reduction and possibly compensation when the legal conditions are met. Nothing in our terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Travel insurance
Do I need travel insurance
Yes. Travel and cancellation insurance are not included unless we clearly state that they are. You are responsible for having adequate insurance that covers illness, accidents, medical treatment, repatriation, baggage and cancellation.
What about passports, visas and health requirements?
You are responsible for valid travel documents and for meeting any passport, visa, health or entry requirements that apply to your trip.

Yes. You are responsible for damage caused intentionally or through negligence to property belonging to us or our suppliers
